Reading the adoc files
Firefox and Chrome have an extension for reading the asciidoc format called Asciidoctor.js Live Preview:
This allows a preview of the page as it would appear in HTML. The limitation is that these tools does not understand the Antora markup, only Asciidoc. However, in most scenarios this doesn’t really matter.

When editing using Visual Studio Code the preview option shows how the HTML will appear.
Editing asciidoc
Asciidoc files are plain text files which can be edited with any text editor. Using a local build, no other tools are required.
VS Code is a editor which has an asciidoc extension (Win, Lin, Mac). https://code.visualstudio.com. For Linux users, it is also available as a Flatpak package at Flathub and and a snap package at snapcraft Using tools like these the need to make a local build and thus the need to install Antora can be avoided.
VS Code is based on the open-sourced vscode project, but adds some features like a C# debugger and anti-features like telemetry. The vscodium project delivers a clean open-source version. Codium is available in major platforms including Windows, MacOS, Flatpak and Snap.
There are also asciidoc plugins for the ubiquitous IntelliJ and Eclipse platforms. Not tested within the project.
